The Ricotta Sagra in Vizzini, Sicily…you just have to be there.  It is held every year on April 25th and we wouldn’t miss it!  This is the 2018 festival.  There are too many sights, fantastic aromas and incredible foods to taste.   But we have great fun trying!

Arancini…fried rice balls filled with ragu, spinach and mozzarella, ricotta…salmon… pistacchio…swordfish…and more!

Provolone hanging everywhere, salami of all shapes and sizes, tubs of warm ricotta and pistacchio covered wheels of cheese that melt in your mouth!

The endless cheese booths, ceramic booths, pastry and drink booths.

I guarantee that you wont leave hungry!

The festival atmosphere and dancing.

The tables of antiques and history.

The horses and colorful carts that are hand carved and painted with such minute detail.

There are many famous cart builders / carvers in Sicily…can you imagine how long this must take?

The horses are treated with such care and are very patient throughout the day!

Everyone just wants to be close to the horses.

Gorgeous steps all lined with hand painted tiles…

It is so wonderfully Sicily, you can’t help but leave with a big smile on your face!
