My little cactus garden started to come alive a few weeks ago!

Love the color of these little baby cactus flowers

The cactus in Sicily comes in all shapes and colors.  Starting these out as little guys…in a few years hopefully, much bigger boys!  The taller 3 part cactus in the back of the terracotta bowl is already 4 years old and now about 14″ tall.  Very slow growers!

The Moroccan mint is doing well in the big terracotta pot with spearmint and chives growing in the background.

Finally after 2 years the caper plant is starting to produce and grow.  Covered with little capers this year, we have already picked a cup or more and soaked them using sea salt and water for a day or two, rinsing and then soaking in vinegar for a few days.  Tasty, tart little morsels!

The lavender this year has gone crazy!  Both planters are doing great and the bees are loving it.

Just stepping out our door brings the most wonderful scent of lavender wafting down on the slightest breeze.

This little guy must be in heaven with all these flowers!

Soon it will be time to trim them and bundle up the lavender to hang in bunches by the house.  Lavender works wonders in keeping mosquitos and sand flies away.

This planter of lavender is 3 years old and doing great!

This planter, the first one planted is 4 years old now and seems to be very happy!  The colors are so amazing against the white stone of Sicily!
